A Question of COLOR
Does color help?
Why are we painting the rooms used for the children’s
ministry such bright colors? Colorfully
learning environments have been proven to have the following effects:
·
Stimulating (creates a better learning
environment)
·
Helps children pay attention longer
·
Cheerful colors promote better moods
·
Reinforces Biblical lessons through
Biblical themes
·
Keeps the room/ walls current and clean
A dark dingy room sends an unspoken
message to parents: “If they do not take the time to do the basics then why
would they take the time with my child?”
Facts on Gen X
Generation X parents are very
concerned about cleanliness and demand the best
care for their children. They
expect programs to be top-notch
and demand a high level of professionalism.
By meeting these immediate needs for the care of their children we can
meet their long-term needs of maintaining/ nurturing faith in Christ.
The second benefit is by allowing their
children to attend functions associated with
church they will strengthen their
relationship with a living God who sent his only son, Jesus.
This will also strengthen relationships
in families and provide good Christian friends
to accompany their children through the turbulence of adolescents.
